Novar builds green energy systems for businesses across Europe. Solar parks, battery storage, and the smart infrastructure that ties it all together. By the time they found us in 2019, through a friend of a friend, they were only operating in the Netherlands.
The problem was not that their tools were broken. Excel and Power Apps worked. But Novar was growing, and their tools were not growing with them. Setting up and documenting a new project took days. Novar had about eight end users across different departments, each with their own way of working and their own set of needs. The challenge was not just building software. It was building software that worked for everyone without creating a tangled mess of edge cases and exceptions.

Over six years we have developed three interconnected platforms that now form the backbone of Novar's operations.
Project Management Platform - The core of everything. A web application where Novar manages their entire portfolio: solar parks, rooftop installations, and battery storage projects. Hundreds of projects across multiple countries, all in one place. Custom permissions, cross-department workflows, and integrations with SharePoint for document management. What used to take days now takes minutes.
Live Energy Dashboard - Built alongside the main platform. A real-time view of energy capture across their solar installations. Simple in scope, significant in impact. Before this, that visibility simply did not exist.
Measurement Management Platform - This one came later, solving a different problem. Novar's measurement data needs to be accurate and auditable by third parties. Before we built this, someone had to manually log into each supplier's portal, export datasets, and compile them in Excel. It took days. We built a system that pulls measurements from multiple sources into a central database connected to their data warehouse. The architecture is deliberately modular. If one supplier's API goes down, everything else keeps running. The data is clean enough to pass third-party audits without headaches.
What took days now takes less than five minutes.
The real outcome is not any single platform. It is what Novar can do now that they could not do before.
They have a unified view of operations across four countries: the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Sweden. The silos are gone. Reporting that used to take weeks now takes hours. And because the administrative burden has dropped so dramatically, they can take on more projects and enter new markets faster.
